Amy Morgan

(Inducted 2025)

Amy started off watching many Kings U16 and U18 games in our early years when boys U16 and U18 teams were coached by her husband, Jim Wright, and good friend (and fellow Hall of Famer) Stevie Duff.

She then moved into team manager roles both within the club and for Scotland teams coached by fellow 2025 inductee Doug Reilly in the late 2000s where she began to understand more about the running of the sport and also sat on the board at Basketball Scotland. In 2010, Amy would become the Club’s Chairperson for the next eight years and she would lead us through a huge period of growth and expansion.

Her enthusiasm for the sport and passion for the Club to be a place that provides an inclusive environment, where people, particularly young people, can come together to be part of a team, led us to became a registered charity, which has opened us up to many new funding opportunities which we continue to benefit from today. She also wanted members to develop life skills and lead a healthier, more active lifestyle, so establishing Scotland’s first basketball academy with Edinburgh College was another big achievement. She was a hugely dedicated volunteer and credits those around her for their expertise, care and commitment to help drive the club forward during her tenure.
